Used 2005 Mazak Multiplex 6100Y twin-spindle CNC lathe for sale
For sale: a 2005 Mazak Multiplex 6100Y — a twin-spindle, twin-turret CNC turning center with full Y-axis capability on both turrets. This machine is in mint condition, has low hours, and is loaded with tooling ready to run. It comes with a 30-day guarantee and buyer’s inspection is welcome.
The Multiplex 6100Y is one of Mazak’s most capable done-in-one turn-mill platforms. Two identical opposed spindles, two 12-position turrets with live tooling on each, and Y-axis on both turrets — meaning the machine can complete complex two-sided turned-and-milled parts in a single cycle with no secondary operations. Mazak positions the Multiplex series as its 2-spindle / 2-turret CNC turning center for mid-size lot production.
Why buyers look for a Multiplex 6100Y
- Done-in-one production. Two identical opposed spindles + two 12-position turrets with live tooling = fully finished parts in one cycle. No second op, no re-fixturing, no queue between operations.
- Y-axis on both turrets. True Y-axis milling on both the upper and lower turrets — off-center holes, flats, keyways, pockets, and cross-drilled features without a separate machining center.
- Twin-spindle “link” mode. Both chucks can grip the same bar at once for exceptionally rigid heavy cuts, or the part can be handed off spindle-to-spindle mid-cycle.
- Mazatrol Fusion 640T control. Conversational Mazatrol programming plus EIA/ISO — one of the fastest CAM-free ways to program complex turn-mill parts in the industry.
- C-axis on both spindles. Full spindle indexing at 0.001° for precise angular positioning and milling.
Loaded with tooling
The machine ships with a substantial tooling package installed and ready to run. Highlights visible in the machine include:
- Two MicroCentric CB42-VA pull-back collet chucks — one on each spindle, made in USA. MicroCentric collet chucks are a premium upgrade over standard 3-jaw work for bar-fed production; excellent runout, high grip, quick collet changes. Serial no. 40248 visible on the primary chuck.
- Standard 6″ 3-jaw hydraulic chucks also available for jaw-work.
- Live tooling stations in both 12-position turrets — visible drills, drivers, and holders in the work zone.
- Bar puller.
- Static turning tools in multiple stations.
Typical applications
- High-volume production of small to mid-size turned-and-milled parts
- Aerospace components — brackets, fittings, hydraulic bodies
- Medical device components — precision turned parts with cross-drilled features
- Firearms components
- Automotive shafts, fittings, and precision bar-work
- Fluid power components — valves, manifolds, fittings
- Any shop currently running two lathes plus a mill to finish a part — the 6100Y consolidates that workflow into one cycle

Why this 6100Y is priced above bare-floor units
You’ll see other 6100Y machines advertised at lower price points on the dealer market. Here’s what sets this one apart:
- Two MicroCentric CB42-VA collet chucks included. MicroCentric pull-back collet chucks are premium made-in-USA workholding — commonly $8,000–$12,000 each new. Two of them, matched to each spindle, is roughly $15,000–$20,000 of high-end tooling that ships with the machine.
- Low hours on a 2005 machine. Most used 6100Ys on the market are 2001–2003 vintage with unknown or high hours. Mint condition with low hours is uncommon in this platform.
- Loaded with live tooling. Live-tool holders in the turret positions, bar puller, and static turning tools installed and ready to run — not a bare-frame machine that needs a $10,000+ tooling package to make first chips.
- Direct-from-owner. Buying from us skips the 20–40% dealer margin that gets added when the same machine gets flipped through a broker.
